Royston Arts Festival Auditions
This year’s entry to the Royston Arts Festival is The Fosdyke Saga, to be directed and produced by Michael Young. The three performances will be on Thursday-Saturday 25th-27th September 2014.
Auditions for the play will be held at Meridian School Hall at 7.15pm on Thursday 15th May.
If you are interested in helping out with the technical side of things, or want more information on the play itself and auditions, please get in touch with the Secretary.
Recent drama festivals
CADS’ production of Turn to Face the Change at the Sawston Drama Festival garnered several nominations for awards, including best actress/actor for Claire Hogan and Ben Pierson. The group won the technical award, which adds to the 3 previous awards this production won last year.
Unfortunately the Haverhill Drama Festival has been postponed and will likely clash with the Royston Arts Festival in September. Additionally the group has been unable to find time and space to perform the show in Royston and is instead now focussing on The Fosdyke Saga and Panto 2015!
Website Backstage access
You may not have noticed, but there’s a ‘backstage’ area of the CADS website with access for Members only. It has links to recent committee meeting minutes, the AGM minutes, a copy of this newsletter, the updated constitution and more. If you can’t remember your login details or would like some, please get in touch with the Secretary.
Membership subs
2014-2015 membership subs were due at the beginning of February. Please contact the Treasurer if you think you have not paid yours for this year. Membership entitles you to free tickets for CADS shows and you must be a member to be involved with shows, as it also covers you under our group insurance. Fees are £15 for adults and £10 for students and seniors.
Bursaries
The Committee are willing to consider applications from Members for bursaries to contribute towards the cost of courses or training related to drama. If you would like to submit an application or want more information, please contact the Secretary.

Cheshire Cats
A Comedy by Gail Young
Grown women, aching feet and heaving bosoms! Follow the Cheshire Cats team as they speedwalk their way to fundraising success in the London Moonwalk. Cheshire Cats is a cross between a girls’ night out and a real mission to support a cause close to many hearts, with plenty of laughs and a few tears along the way.
