Your Pantomime Needs You!
Do you want Panto to happen? So do we!

Come along to our Panto Kick-off at The Bull on Thursday 3rd October (7.30pm - 8.30pm), to show your interest and get involved! We need your help: if we don’t have enough people, the show simply can't happen. If you're hoping to be in the Cast, there are other ways you can help too. We can share out specific small tasks which would otherwise traditionally be included within larger production roles (listed below), to enable the show to go ahead.

We're delighted to reveal that this year's Director is Alison Bass, and Musical Director is Louise Atkins! But to make the show feasible, other crucial roles still to fill (or sub-divide) are:

  • Production Co-ordinator & team
  • Technical Co-ordinator & team
  • Child Protection Manager
  • Publicity Co-ordinator
  • Set Designer
  • Lighting Designer
  • Sound Designer
  • Costume Co-ordinator & team
  • Props Co-ordinator & team
  • Stage Manager & crew
  • Front of house Co-ordinator & team

The auditions will follow a few days later on Monday 7 October in the Drama Studio at KJAR (senior site): 7pm-8pm (12-18yrs), 8pm-9pm (18+ yrs).

Technical & Dress Rehearsal dates are 18 & 19 January 2025.

Performance dates are 25, 26, 31 January and 1 February 2025.
Rehearsals will take place on Monday and Thursday evenings.

Technical Training Opportunities
For those interested in furthering their skills in backstage roles we're offering training for Working At Height and Portable Appliance Testing (a.k.a. PAT testing). Working At Height will be necessary for anyone working on the gallery at KJAR and this training can be done online. We also need to have 2 or 3 people trained to do PAT testing for the electrical equipment we use as it is a legal requirement these are tested annually. If you're interested in this please contact Darren Dunford ([email protected])

Chapel Clearout - can you help?
KJAR have asked us to remove the containers from their site - it is looking like this will happen early next year and we'll need to consolidate what we store in to the chapel. So this is a great opportunity for us to have a clearout particularly the scenery - after all there are only so many fake wells, fireplaces and trees we could ever need! We're going to do this every Saturday through October from 10am->12pm - we're looking for volunteers both to help sorting through and to do tip runs to the recycling centre. Please contact [email protected] if you're able to help on one or more of these Saturdays, or just turn up with a suitable vehicle at the chapel please.

Reminder - We're on Royston Radio Soon
We have two more radio plays ready to go... both can be heard on Royston Radio as part of the Royston Arts Festival. Losing The Plot will go out at 2pm on Wednesday 25th September, and Sorry, Wrong Number the following week at 2pm on Wednesday 2nd October - don't forget to tune in!
