The next play-reading session will be in early November: please keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for details within the next week.
Panto 2017 update
Auditions for Red Riding Hood, our 2017 pantomime, took place on 6th Oct and the cast list is now on our website. Performances have been scheduled for Jan 20th/21st and Jan 27th/28th. Our first set build weekend will take place on 4th-6th November. Details of exact times can be found on the Facebook event page. Please come along and lend a hand!
Abigail's Party wrap-up
Congratulations to all involved in the production of Abigail's Party, which was very well attended and received!
CADS Christmas Dinner
The CADS Christmas Dinner will take place on Sat 10th Dec, 7.30pm at The Banyers. Confirmation of interest and a £10 deposit are needed by 13th November. Please e-mail Ian Cowley at [email protected] or contact him via Facebook.
CADS Drama Awards: Nominations Call
Every year in January, CADS makes two awards: The Fred Sillence Award, given "for outstanding contribution to the performing arts", and The Lizzie Houghton Award, given "for outstanding contribution to youth drama". Nominations can be made by anyone from the local area, and award nominees don't have to be a member of CADS or have been involved with CADS performances. If you'd like to make a nomination, please contact the CADS secretary by Jan 18th. For further information about the awards and a list of previous winners, please see our website.
CADS 2017 Productions
The CADS committee would like to encourage groups within CADS to start thinking about drama festivals, and about participation in the Royston Arts Festival next year. We have already had an invitation from Cambridge Drama Festival to submit an entry for the 2017 festival taking place April 24th-27th. Entries must be submitted by 31st Dec 2016, so if you have any ideas about this or another festival, please contact the CADS secretary with details.
Congratulations to Kellie Lucken
Congratulations to Kellie Lucken on her excellent performance in the Hertford Dramatic and Operatic Society's production of Legally Blonde at the Hertford Theatre this month.
Royston Mayor's Charity Bollywood Evening
The Mayor’s Charity Bollywood evening will take place at the Royston Town Hall on 25th November in conjunction with Royston Tandoori. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Royston Town Mayor's Community Trust Fund (supporting local causes).
